I have decided to write about Ben Franklin’s fifth virtue frugality.It means to make no expense but to do good to others or yourself. An example of frugality is to waste nothing. I chose this virtue because I think is important with today’s economy to conserve and recycle. This is great virtue to perfect, because I would not only be helping myself but others as well.Also with college only a year away I need to start saving money. Improving the use of frugality in my life would help me overcome some of my obstacles in life.
To achieve my goal of perfection. I plan to make myself a chart of things I could do to improve the use of frugality in my life. The first thing I am going to put one the chart is recycling. I can try and recycle everything I use. Next, I can put ten dollars back every weekend, which will help me start saving for college. I can walk instead of drive to certain places. I also can turn off electronic devices when I am not using them. Finally, I can use more energy efficient bulbs. This is my plan for the next to weeks.
Update #1 - The weather this past weekend was great, so instead of drying our clothes in the dryer I hung them outside. This saved tons of energy. I also turned off electronics when my family and I were not using them. This puts a huge dent in our electricity bill. My plan for the next few days is to use reusable bags instead of plastic bags at the grocery store, and switch the light bulbs in my house.
Update #2- I was able to continue hanging my clothes outside. I was also able to use a reusable bag instead of plastic when shopping. We went to store and got energy efficient light bulbs for our entire house. My dad and I switched them this morning. I also have set up a plan to put $10 back each weekend for college.

I have saved twenty dollars this week. I plan to continue this trend for weeks to come. It has been rainy so no haging clothes outside. I have been recycling! It is one of my grandfathers favorite things to do.

I have been still saving so by the end of the week I should have thirty dollars! I had a candal light dinner so we didn't use any lights. We still have been turning off electronics when we are not using them.
